Lucius Aemilius Paulus of Macedon which in 168 BC, commanding the Roman troops at the Battle of Pydna, led to the final subjugation of Macedonia to Rome and the permanent domination of Rome over the Hellenistic world. He sent King Perseus and his sons to Rome to walk in his triumph. The head of Concordia reflects the concordia ordinum which was central to Cicero's policy in 63 (Cic., in Cat., IV,15; De off., II, 78-84) because the moneyer was Cicero's convinced supporter
