Damnatio Memoriae evidence. Maximinus Thrax received Damnatio Memoriae for the Senate, same as for example Severus Alexander. By looking at their women, such as Julia Mammaea and Caecilia Paulina, suffered collateral unofficial damnationes, one can see how it was often the trend for women to be labelled in the same manner as their husbands or sons, ultimately receiving the condemnation by affiliation. Coins and statues were damaged. Caecilia Paulina was the wife of Maximinus I, who most likely passed away before her husband's brutal coup in 235. Though little is known about her life, she at least bore one son, Maximus, who later became Caesar. Given the importance of the imperial family in Roman ideology, Maximinus posthumously elevated his wife to the purple, and she was duly deified and placed on his coinage.
