Geta, as Augustus (AD 209-211). AE as (26 mm, 11.26 gm).  Rome, AD 210-212. P SEPT GETA PIVS AVG BRIT, laureate head right / VICTORIAE BRITTANICAE, Britannia seated left on shields, holding palm and shield on knee. RIC IV.I 191a

Geta was given a largely administrative role during the Severan invasion of northern Britain, remaining at York with his mother Julia Domna to supervise the government while Severus and Caracalla led the armies in Scotland. It was in Britain that Severus, perhaps finally realizing the mental instability of his elder son Caracalla, raised Geta to the rank of co-Augustus, thus for the first time giving the Empire three Augusti.
