This unusual bronze belongs to a varied group of Belgic issues depicting a running human figure and a highly stylised horse. Such designs are generally associated with the Bellovaci, although their precise tribal attribution remains uncertain. The obverse is particularly noteworthy: unlike the better-known varieties in which the figure runs in one direction while looking backwards, here the figure both runs and faces left. This variation does not appear to correspond exactly with the commonly published examples and may represent a rare die or an unpublished variant within the broader DT series 43.
