Silver Petermännchen (Albus) struck in 1655 during the reign of Archbishop and Prince-Elector Karl Kaspar von der Leyen. The obverse displays the electoral coat of arms beneath the date 1655, surrounded by the legend CARL CASPAR D·G·ARCH·TREV, an abbreviation of Carolus Caspar, Dei Gratia Archiepiscopus Trevirensis ("Karl Kaspar, by the Grace of God Archbishop of Trier"). The reverse depicts Saint Peter, the patron saint of Trier, standing with a key and a book. The surrounding legend CHVR·F·TRIR·LANTMINTZ refers to the Electoral Mint of Trier. The representation of Saint Peter gave this coin its popular name, "Petermännchen" ("Little Peter").
