The Cilbiani were a people so called after the river Kilbos, an affluent of the upper Kaystros (or Cayster), which by imperial times seem to have been divided into two separate communes in the upper and lower reaches of the Kilbos. The coins of the Lower Cilbiani were struck at the chief city of the Kilbos valley, Nicaea.
